The match ends, and Fiorentina will be playing European football next season!! Gonzalez's late penalty sealed a 2-0 victory, and they didn't exactly have to work the hardest for a result that cements La Viola's position in the final European qualification berth! A fantastic end-of-season performance, which fully deserved all three points, and Vincenzo Italiano's men will play continental football for the first time in 10 seasons.

Gonzalez sealed the win with an ice-cold penalty late on, adding to three shots, a key pass and two crosses. He worked hard all over the pitch, being involved in 24 total duels, half of which were in the air, and winning three fouls as well as three interceptions. Talismanic.

This fantastic Viola performance and victory, coupled with Atalanta's 1-0 loss at home to Empoli, ensures that Fiorentina will play in next season's Europa Conference League - the first continental football the club will have played in since 2012-13. They'll continue to dream of the more prestigious Champions League, which Juve have qualified for, but the building blocks of this season will hopefully pave the way for a top four push when season 2022/23 rolls around in August.

  1. That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed the game, and the season. Until next time, it's goodbye from us!22:54

  2. 90'+3'

    FULL-TIME: FIORENTINA 2-0 JUVENTUS.22:47

  3. 90'+2'

GOOOAAAALLLL!!!! La Viola are heading for Europe!!! Gonzalez steps up to send Pinsoglio the wrong way, slot the penalty into the bottom-left corner, and put Fiorentina 2-0 up!! Seventh place is surely theirs now!

  4. 90'+1'

PENALTY!!! Torreira dribbles into the box and takes on Bonucci, cutting inside him and being brought down, to which the referee points to the spot! Bonucci appeals, but it's as clear a penalty as you ever did see, and Fiorentina have a chance to double their lead here!22:57

  5. 90'

We're into an additional three minutes to close out this game.22:45

  6. 89'

After Rugani heads away a promising cross from the right, Sandro and Amrabat tussle for possession, with the Juve left-back winning the free-kick as a cautious Amrabat trudges back into position.22:43

  7. 88'

Rugani and Cabral collide in midfield, with the home side in no rush whatsoever to take the resultant free-kick.22:42

  8. 86'

Duncan's goal separates the two sides going into the last five minutes, but he comes off now for Lucas Torreira.22:41

  9. 85'

Piatek comes off with his head strapping barely in place, and is replaced up front by Arthur Cabral.22:38

  10. 84'

Dybala is crowded out and dispossessed as he looks to create a shooting opportunity, and Fiorentina fly forward on the counter. Ikone taps the ball past De Ligt, but is floored by the Juve defender, who the referee promptly books.22:38

  11. 82'

Should he score against his former employers, Vlahovic will become only the second under-23 player to score at least 25 goals in a single Serie A campaign in the last 60 years, after Ronaldo Nazario in 1997/98. Of his 24 so far, 17 came in his first 21 games, which he played for La Viola before his January move to Turin.22:36

  12. 80'

Piatek has a go from distance, but his vicious shot is deflected back into play. Bonaventura looks to pick up the pieces, but is dispossessed on the edge of the box and Juve can counter.22:37

  13. 78'

SAVED!!!! Gonzalez's corner finds Piatek at the back post, and his bullet header forces a last-ditch save from Pinsoglio! Milenkovic follows up, but the Juve substitute keeper reacts brilliantly to stop his shot too, and his defenders knock the ball clear! 22:33

  14. 77'

Bonaventura races down the left untouched before attempting a cross from the byline, which is put behind for a corner by De Ligt!22:32

  15. 76'

Miretti also comes off for the Old Lady, replaced by US international Weston McKennie.22:29

  16. 76'

The home crowd whistles as Kean comes off, but that's because former Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic is the man to replace him!22:29

  17. 75'

Ikone sprays a pass wide to Gonzalez, who crosses into the area. Piatek rises for it, but it's headed away by Rugani!22:28

  18. 74'

The tempo of this game has slowed right down, as Fiorentina look to consolidate control. Juve don't seem too intent on counter-attacking either, and with the final 15 minutes approaching, this will likely continue to be a slow burner.22:27

  19. 72'

Ake steps inside to challenge a flying Ikone, catching the Viola winger late and conceding a free-kick.22:28

  20. 70'

Amrabat slides in wildly, and late, on Ake as the two go for a bouncing ball, and the yellow card is out immediately for the Fiorentina midfielder.22:23

  21. 70'

Saponara's been exceptional for Fiorentina in this game, but comes off now for Jonathan Ikone.22:22

  22. 69'

Odriozola's long diagonal pass is touched down by Duncan, but his attempted effort on the turn deflects behind for a corner!22:22

  23. 67'

Saponara smashes a low cross into the box, but it's a fraction behind Duncan and Miretti is able to clear for the Bianconeri!22:56

  24. 65'

Biraghi and Ake get into a tangle on the edge of the Fiorentina box, with Biraghi coming off worse. He stays down, and the free-kick decision, which originally went against him, is overturned!22:18

  25. 64'

La Viola break at speed as Saponara carries it forward, but his ball across the box for Piatek is cut out and Juve win a free-kick.22:17

  26. 62'

The booked Venuti is withdrawn for La Viola, and Alvaro Odriozola replaces him.22:14

  27. 60'

Bernardeschi comes off in Juve's latest change, and Marley Ake, who impressed in his cameo against Lazio, will replace him.22:13

  28. 58'

Bernardeschi's ball to the back post is brought down by Kean, who looks to evade Venuti and shoot, but catches the Viola right-back late and concedes a free-kick.22:12

  29. 56'

The battle between Rabiot and Venuti has been threatening to boil over for a while, and finally did there, with the Juve midfielder also booked for his involvement.22:56

  30. 56'

Bonaventura is felled in the box by Rabiot, and it looks a stone-wall penalty. Venuti isn't happy with the referee's decision to give a goal kick, and another fracas breaks out, with the referee booking the Fiorentina right-back.22:56

  31. 54'

OVER! After Saponara's cross into the box is headed away by Bonucci, Gonzalez picks the ball up and smashes a 20-yard shot that whistles over the crossbar!22:09

  32. 52'

Dybala chases a loose ball after Rabiot outmuscles Venuti, and his cross is deflected behind for a rare Juve corner.22:07

  33. 50'

Bonaventura's left-foot has been like a wand for La Viola in this game. Not only did he set up the goal, the Italy midfielder has two shots, a key pass, and two crosses, winning the ball four times too. General.22:05

  34. 48'

OVER!!! Bonaventura's first-time cross is met by Gonzalez in the box, and his acrobatic volley sends the ball a whisker over the bar!22:03

  35. 47'

Bonaventura's whipped in cross from the left is aimed for Piatek, but it takes a deflection before hitting his heavily-strapped forehead and goes behind.22:02

  36. 46'

After a slight delay the second half is underway!21:58

  37. 46'

In goal, Juve also make a change, withdrawing Perin for Carlo Pinsoglio to come on for the second half.21:55

  38. 46'

Juve make some half-time changes, with Chiellini coming off for the final time to be replaced by Daniele Rugani.21:55

  39. The sides are back on the pitch for the second half, and will that late goal spark a response from Juventus?21:54

  40. The hosts had a whopping 71.5 per cent possession in the first 45 minutes, with their 361 completed passes more than double Juve's 151. They've only managed one shot on target from seven attempts though, however that one proved to be crucial as it's the goal that separates the two sides at the moment!21:41

  41. The first half ends with Fiorentina taking a late 1-0 lead into the break! Juventus have been passive at best, with the hosts having all the ball, but only a smattering of half-chances. The Old Lady's defence stood firm, right until Bonaventura somehow found Duncan through a crowd of bodies, and he slammed in the opener which currently confirms a European place for La Viola!21:39

  42. 45'+3'

    HALF-TIME: FIORENTINA 1-0 JUVENTUS.22:01

  43. 45'+3'

After both Chiellini and Piatek leave the field to be strapped up, and come back on, play eventually resumes and Juve kick us off again!22:00

  44. 45'+1'

Bonaventura went down some time before that final pass, but kept his composure to keep the ball ahead of all Juve's defenders and slice it left for Duncan to finish off!21:37

  45. 45'+1'

GOOOAAAALLLL!!! La Viola hit the front!!! Bonaventura goes down in the box, but does extremely well to retain possession from a crowd of Juve players, spinning a pass out to Duncan who smashes it home!!! 1-0 to the hosts, and they sure do deserve that lead!21:36

    Joseph Alfred Duncan
  46. 44'

Julio did kick Kean late as the ball went out for a throw, and he's booked as a result by the referee.04:14

  47. 44'

Kean is booked for his involvement in the fracas, as he was the one to initially push the Viola defender.21:34

  48. 44'

Kean and Julio have a disagreement on the far touchline after a fierce contest for the ball, and both sets of players arrive on the scene to eventually calm the tempers of the pair.21:33

  49. 42'

Venuti's clipped ball into the box sees Bonaventura hit the deck under pressure from Bonucci, but the referee waves away any potential penalty appeals before the Viola midfielder can get to his feet.21:31

  50. 40'

These two sides have drawn 52 of their 165 Serie A matches, with Juve have only drawing more against Milan (56) in the top-flight.21:30

  51. 38'

Biraghi comes inside and plays a quick one-two with Duncan. The final pass from Duncan sends the left-back through on goal, but Perin dives low to smother the ball before he can connect.21:28

  52. 36'

Duncan receives the ball in space 25 yards from goal and tries his luck, skewing a woeful shot well wide of the target!21:26

  53. 34'

OVER!!! Saponara finds space on the edge of the Juve box again, teeing up Amrabat. He lays the ball off to Venuti, whose deflected effort floats over the crossbar!21:51

  54. 33'

Amrabat looks to pick out the run of Piatek with a good ball over the top, but Bonucci reads it and slides in to cut out the pass before it can reach the Poland forward.21:22

  55. 31'

If they finish this Serie A campaign in the first seven positions, Fiorentina will play in European competition next season, for the first time since 2016/17, when they were eliminated in the round of 32 of the Europa League.21:20

  56. 29'

Biraghi crosses to the back post where Bonaventura is waiting, but the diminutive midfielder is easily out-jumped by Sandro and Juve win possession back.21:19

  57. 27'

BLOCKED!!! Bonaventura's at it again, stepping in and away from Miretti before firing a low shot, that takes a wicked deflection off Chiellini and goes wide!21:17

  58. 26'

Chiellini heads the ball high into the sky, but almost brings Piatek down by his neck as the two wrestle for the second ball! The referee blows for a free-kick, but there's a smile on the faces of both players.21:51

  59. 24'

Bernardeschi swings in the corner, which Terracciano comes for but completely misses as the ball flies over the opposite touchline!21:13

  60. 23'

Juve mount a counter-attack, but Duncan pulls back Rabiot and concedes a free-kick in his own half.21:12

  61. 22'

If they win this match, Juventus will end this Serie A season with maximum of 73 points, their worst total in a Serie A season since they 58 they achieved in 2010/11 under Luigi Delneri.21:11

  62. 20'

WIDE!!! The free-kick is swung into the box, where Gonzalez heads it across goal from the back post. Bonaventura touches it down, before striking a left-footed effort which only just misses Perin's left post following a block by Chiellini!21:11

  63. 19'

Venuti is clipped late by Rabiot in midfield, gifting Fiorentina an attacking free-kick.21:08

  64. 17'

CHANCE! Milenkovic mis-controls a back-pass and almost allows Kean to ghost in behind him, but Terracciano races out of his goal to thump the ball away!21:06

  65. 16'

La Viola repel a Juventus corner and Saponara comes away with it, driving down the left side before being barrelled over by Rabiot to win a free-kick.21:05

  66. 15'

Fiorentina have lost four of their last five Serie A games, as many defeats as in their previous 20.21:04

  67. 13'

Fiorentina build well as Saponara again creates space down the left. He links up with Duncan, but his attempted cross flies wildly behind the goal and out of play!21:02

  68. 12'

Saponara beats two defenders before providing Biraghi with an inside ball. He looks to cross to the back post, but it's a poor effort that is easily headed away by De Ligt.21:01

  69. 10'

Sandro flies up the left to latch onto a long pass, and looks to cross into the Fiorentina box. He links up with Dybala, then Rabiot, but after preventing cross after cross, La Viola's defenders eventually clear the danger!20:59

  70. 8'

A long kick forward has Gonzalez racing after it, but he has to really stretch to keep the ball in play and the eventual cross is a powerless one that Perin easily deals with.20:57

  71. 7'

Fiorentina have picked up 38 points at the Franchi stadium this season, and if they win this match, the Viola would rise to 41 points, ranking behind only Inter in home matches in Serie A 2021/22. Fiorentina could also exceed 40 points at home in a single Serie A campaign for the first time since 2012/13.20:56

  72. 5'

Kean looks to evade Milenkovic and spark a counter-attack for the visitors, but is brought to ground by the centre-back and wins a free-kick.21:50

  73. 4'

Saponara streaks down the byline and looks to cut the ball back for Piatek, but Bonucci cuts it out and clears for Juve.20:53

  74. 3'

Fiorentina have won only two of their last 16 Serie A matches against Juventus: in December 2020 and January 2017, and they have failed to score in eight games in this period.20:51

  75. 1'

Piatek kicks off for Fiorentina, and we're up and running at the Stadio Artemio Franchi!20:49

  78. La Viola’s rotten run of form has seen them lose four of their last five games, conceding 11 goals in the process. Nicolas Gonzalez scored a late penalty in their 4-1 loss to Sampdoria, and starts again on the right for this game, hoping it’ll end in a more positive result.20:46
