Inter clinch all three points in a thrilling game, which saw five second half goals, two of which were penalties after the referee changed his mind following intervention by VAR. Torino led 1-0 at the break, but then came three goals in five minutes. First Ansaldi put the visitors 2-0 ahead from the penalty spot, after Young was adjudged to have fouled Singo. However, Sanchez and Lukaku pulled Inter back level. The hosts then went on to score twice more to wrap up the win, with Lukaku firing home from the spot after another VAR check following a foul on Hakimi, before Martinez made it 4-2 late on.

This victory moves Inter up to fifth in Serie A, only three points off top spot, which is currently occupied by Sassuolo. Inter will now turn their attentions to the Champions League in midweek, as they welcome Real Madrid. Meanwhile Torino drop into the relegation zone after this result. They face Virtus Entella on Thursday in the Coppa Italia.

That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!

  13. 83'

VAR CHECK! The officials are just checking to see if the correct decision was made against Hakimi and the referee is going over to watch the video replay.16:46

  14. 81'

PENALTY SHOUT! Inter want a penalty after Hakimi goes down whilst challenging for the ball with Nkoulou just inside the box. However, Hakimi seems to be in an offside position as the ball came to him, so Torino are awarded a free-kick.17:09

  15. 79'

There has still only been the one change by Torino so far, the visitors still look very good in attack, but shaky at the back, with the front three of Lukaku, Sanchez and Martinez causing them a lot of problems.16:42

  16. 77'

Great cross! Hakimi does brilliantly down the right wing, gets to the byline and drills a low cross into the box, but it is missed by Martinez and Perisic and goes out of play. Someone should've been on the end of that.16:39

  17. 76'

We're into the final 15 minutes of the game now and both teams are looking dangerous, trying to break quickly on the counter in search of a winning goal.16:38

  18. 74'

The other substitution by the hosts sees Perisic replace Young.16:37

  19. 74'

Another double change now by Inter, with Ranocchia heading off the pitch and he has been replaced by De Vrij.16:36

  20. 72'

Young has found the net in his only Serie A match against Torino: the English winger scored in each of his first two games against a single Serie A Premier League opponent only against Blackburn and Derby County, both with Aston Villa.16:34

  21. 70'

Singo is booked for a poor challenge on Young. There are a few challenges flying in now, as the game is being played at a frantic pace.16:33

  22. 69'

Three goals inside five minutes! What a game we have on our hands now. Who will manage to come out on top?16:33

  23. 67'

Sanchez was allowed time and space to get into the penalty area and then he picks out Lukaku in the middle, rather than going for goal himself.17:17

  24. 67'

GOOOAAALLL! Lukaku scores to level the game, it's 2-2! What a turnaround this is from Inter! Sanchez and Lukaku once again linking up well and this time it is Sanchez with the assist, after he drifts slightly wide and drills a low ball across the six-yard box and Lukaku had a simple tap-in from close range.

The other Inter change sees D'Ambrosio replaced by Skriniar.17:07

  26. 65'

Double Inter substitution now, with Gagliardini the first man coming off and he has been replaced by Martinez.17:07

  27. 64'

Lukaku was very unlucky not to score himself, with his effort striking the crossbar, but he made sure the chance didn't go away and set up Sanchez from close range.17:06

  28. 64'

GOOOAAALLL! Inter pull a goal back straight away, it's 2-1! Sanchez starts the move on the edge of the penalty area, the ball is then squared to Lukaku, who sees his shot cannon off the crossbar. The striker then battles for the rebound in the air and it falls perfectly to Sanchez, who smashes it into the back of the net from just a few yards out.

  29. 62'

GOOOAAALLL! Ansaldi converts from the penalty spot and it doubles Torino's lead, it's 2-0! No mistakes from the spot-kick by Ansaldi, as he smashes the ball into the back of the net, just out of the reach of Handanovic.

  30. 61'

Young is booked for the foul that has awarded Torino a penalty.16:29

  31. 61'

TORINO PENALTY! The referee has been over to the VAR monitor and has awarded Torino a penalty after reviewing the footage. Young has a high leg and tries to get the ball, but just makes contact with Singo, who flicks it past him. The Inter players are furious.16:25

  32. 60'

VAR CHECK! Just before the Inter attack that led to a free-kick, there was an incident between Young and Singo in the Torino penalty area and the winger went down claiming contact. However, the referee waved away his initial appeals, allowing Inter to counter. VAR are now taking a look.16:23

  33. 58'

Excellent opportunity for Inter to test Sirigu after Zaza fouls Gagliardini on the edge of the penalty area and the referee awards the hosts a free-kick.16:21

  34. 56'

No chances for either side so far in the second period and it looks like Inter might be ready to make some changes, with Martinez looking likely to come onto the pitch soon.16:19

  35. 54'

Since their return to Serie A (from 2012/13), Torino have lost only three of their eight away league games against Inter (W2 D3): during this period, only Juventus (one) and Roma (two) have recorded fewer defeats against the Nerazzurri.16:17

  36. 52'

Neither team have really been able to get the ball on the ground and control possession so far in this second half. However, there is a quick pace to the game, as Torino continue to try and counter quickly.16:14

  37. 50'

Offside! Lukaku races through on goal after being played in by Sanchez and the striker manages to get a shot away at goal, but it is well blocked and goes out of play. However, the striker was well offside and the flag goes up.17:05

  38. 48'

Free-kick to Torino in a decent position around 40 yards out after Ranocchia fouls Meite and it hands the visitors a chance at goal or just to whip the set piece into the box. However, the ball into the penalty area is comfortably cleared by Inter.16:10

  39. 46'

Bastoni is booked almost straight after the restart, as he dives in and catches Singo late as the Torino man flicked the ball past him.16:08

  40. 46'

The second half is under way!16:06

  41. Inter have struggled to carve open the Torino defence, who have played well and the likes of Lukaku and Sanchez haven't been given much room to get shots away to test Sirigu in goal.15:56

  42. Torino lead 1-0 at the break after Zaza scores right at the end of the half to fire the visitors into the lead. Inter have seen more of the ball, but Torino had the better chances, with Handanovic having to make a couple of good saves to deny Zaza and Ansaldi after they caught the hosts out on the counter. It looked like it would be goalless at the break, but Zaza finished off a lovely move, to give his side the advantage in stoppage time.15:55

  43. 45'+3'

    HALF-TIME: INTER 0-1 TORINO15:52

  44. 45'+2'

Torino managed to work the space well, opening up the Inter defence and Meite fed Zaza through, cutting out a couple of Inter defenders and the striker did the rest with a superb finish.15:52

  45. 45'+2'

GOOOAAALLL! Torino lead just before the break, it’s 1-0! Lovely move by the visitors, with Meite feeding Zaza on the edge of the penalty area, who cuts inside onto his left-foot and curls the ball into the back of the net, past Handanovic. Excellent finish.

    Simone Zaza
  46. 45'

There will be a minimum of two minutes added time played at the end of the first half.15:48

  47. 44'

Lukaku has found the net in his first two home league games this season; the last Inter player to score in each of his first three Serie A matches of a season at San Siro was Daniel Osvaldo in 2014-15.17:23

  48. 42'

Here is the enforced Torino substitution, with Verdi limping off the pitch and he has been replaced by Bonazzoli.15:44

  49. 41'

Another injury concern now for Torino, with Verdi down with a knock and it doesn't look like he is going to be able to continue, as Bonazzoli is getting ready on the sidelines.15:44

  50. 39'

There's not long left to play before the end of the first half now, can either side break the deadlock before the half-time whistle?15:41

  51. 37'

Torino may have a problem as Bremer is down with an injury and the medical staff are on the pitch giving him some treatment, after he seems to land awkwardly after a battle for the ball with Lukaku. However, he should be fine to continue.15:40

  52. 35'

D'Ambrosio is the first Inter player booked after he dives into the back of Linetty and clatters into his opponent, getting nowhere near the ball.15:38

  53. 33'

We're past the half an hour mark here at San Siro and it remains goalless between Inter and Torino, with the hosts enjoying more possession, but it is the visitors who have looked the more dangerous in attack on the break.15:35

  54. 31'

The first yellow card of the game is shown to Verdi after his late sliding challenge on D'Ambrosio, catching the Inter defender late in the middle of the pitch.16:00

  55. 30'

Blocked! The ball falls nicely to Sanchez on the edge of the penalty area and he turns and fires a low strike towards goal, but it is well blocked and the cleared by Torino.15:33

  56. 29'

Torino won their last away league match against Genoa and could record two consecutive wins on the road in Serie A for the first time since November 2019; the last team under Giampaolo to have won two away Serie A matches in a row was Sampdoria in March 2019.15:32

  57. 27'

It's all Inter with the possession, as Torino sit deep inside their own half and soak up the pressure, with everyone back behind the ball defending.15:30

  58. 25'

Sanchez hasn't been able to get on the ball much so far today, he has been well marked by the Torino defence, who are doing a good job of keeping their opponents away from the final third.15:27

  59. 23'

Ambitious effort! Zaza picks up the ball out wide and tries to find a team-mate in the middle of the box, but instead it flies towards goal and almost catches Handanovic off guard. However, the Inter keeper reads it well enough and manages to gather in the air.15:26

  60. 21'

CHANCE! Zaza should fire Torino ahead! It's a quick counter from the visitors and Ansaldi feeds Zaza through on goal and he only has Handanovic to beat in the Inter goal. The striker just manages to stay onside and he fires a powerful effort towards goal, but it's too close to Handanovic and he makes an excellent save.15:24

  61. 19'

The visitors look dangerous on the counter-attack, as they have already opened up Inter at the back a few minutes ago and after sitting so deep to defend, they could spring a surprise attack on their opponents.15:21

  62. 17'

Inter have won their last two Serie A matches against Torino and they could record 3+ consecutive wins against their opponents in the competition for the first time since September 2008.15:20

  63. 15'

SAVE! Lukaku is fed through on goal by Vidal and the striker only had Sirigu to beat in the Torino goal. However, his powerful strike is too close to the keeper and he remains on his feet and makes a strong stop at his near post. It wouldn't have counted anyway, as the linesman had his flag up for offside.15:20

  64. 13'

Save! Handanovic is forced into making a good stop to deny Ansaldi, who had time and space to drill an effort towards goal from the edge of the box and the Inter keeper had to get down quickly as he didn't see it until late.15:17

  65. 11'

Decent chance! Zaza tries an acrobatic volley following a cross into the box from the right, but he misses the ball and falls to the ground under pressure. However, he still manages to get a shot away, but it flies well wide.15:16

  66. 9'

CHANCE! Torino with the best opportunity of the game! Zaza gets in-behind the Inter defence as a long diagonal ball comes over the top of the hosts back line from Ansaldi and Zaza meets it at the far post, firing the ball towards the bottom right-hand corner of the net. However, it flies just wide, striking the side netting.15:13

  67. 8'

Lukaku holds up the ball well inside the box and waits for Hakimi to join him, laying it out wide for the wing-back, who delivers low cross into the box which is blocked and headed away. However, it then falls to Gagliardini on the edge of the penalty area, who fires an effort towards goal, but it flies wide.15:11

  68. 7'

Inter are starting to enjoy the early possession here, keeping it well in midfield, but Torino are pressing them high up the pitch and aren't making it easy for the hosts to venture into the final third.15:09

  69. 5'

Wild effort! Verdi does well to get forward and stretch the Inter defence, he gets to the edge of the penalty area and unleashes a powerful strike at goal. However, it flies well wide.15:36

  70. 3'

Free-kick to Inter in a decent position early on here, after Barella is fouled by Verdi and the hosts have a good opportunity to whip the ball into the penalty area. Sanchez delivers the set piece, but Torino just about clear the danger after a little scramble inside the box.15:05

  71. 2'

There has been a late change to the Torino starting line-up, with Belotti pulling up during the warm-up and he has been replaced by Zaza.15:46

  72. 1'

    We're under way!15:02

  75. Inter have made five changes to their starting line-up, with Skriniar, De Vrij, Darmian, Brozovic and Martinez all dropping out of the side and they have been replaced by D’Ambrosio, Ranocchia, Hakimi, Gagliardini and Lukaku.14:48

  80. Meanwhile Torino are just outside the relegation places, sitting 17th after just one victory in their opening seven games, which came against Genoa at the start of November. They then followed this up with a goalless draw against fellow strugglers, Crotone.14:35

  81. Inter are winless in their last four games, having drawn three and lost one in all competitions, with their last Serie A game before the international break ending 2-2 with Parma. This has seen them drop down to eighth in the table, however, they are still only five points off Milan at the top.14:30
