Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos had put Los Blancos into a 2-0 lead in the first half, but Lautaro Martinez got one back before the break. Ivan Perisic levelled the scores in the second period, while the visitors spurned chances to go ahead. Rodrygo was on the spot for the hosts to deliver the three points with a fine strike.
Real Madrid are next in action in LaLiga on Sunday against Valencia on the road. Inter take on Atalanta away from home on the same day in Serie A.
