Even a stirring start to an open second half was not enough for Juventus to battle back from succumbing to PSG's first-half brilliance, as the French champions get off to a winning start in Group H. A scintillating 45 minutes from Neymar and Mbappe put the hosts firmly in the driving seat, and from thereon in, either goalkeeper was the star man for their side. Both made a couple of important stops as the game wore on, but it is Donnarumma and company who take three points; Juve return to Turin empty-handed.

Paris have now won 25 of their last 31 home games in the Champions League group stage, and they encounter Maccabi Haifa next time out; Juventus will tackle Benfica.

That's all from Paris today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!

  1. 90'+4'

    FULL-TIME: PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN 2-1 JUVENTUS22:54

  2. 90'+2'

McKennie brings down Mbappe, conceding a free-kick, but Paris cannot make much of it. The result now seems set to go in their favour.22:54

  3. 90'

Mbappe is now denied by Perin, who is keeping Juventus in this single-handedly at the moment! It was a more straightforward save in a central position this time, but still needed to be made.22:52

  4. 89'

SAVE! After Danilo plays in Neymar, who attempts a reprise of his elaborate first-half assist for Mbappe, the ball breaks to the former, who tests Perin to the full. The Juve keeper makes a great stop, though, and the Bianconeri breathe again!22:50

  5. 87'

A further change in midfield for PSG sees Verratti make way for Sanches.23:02

  6. 87'

Rabiot is withdrawn against his former club; another ex-Paris man, Kean, comes on for the closing stages.22:52

  7. 86'

Though his free-kick from 25 yards begins to dip towards the top-right corner at the end of its flight, Neymar sees his set-piece effort drop over the top of the crossbar.22:46

  8. 84'

Newly arrived in Paris, former Valencia captain Soler is offered a brief cameo from the bench; Messi makes way.22:45

  9. 83'

Certainly, Juve have identified PSG's weakness from crosses, which is probably why Allegri started with two tall strikers. That has been a constant source of concern for the hosts - and they are now hanging on rather than threatening to extend their lead.22:44

  10. 81'

DOUBLE STOP! Bremer sends over a dipping cross into the box from the right, and after Mukiele makes a hash of his attempted clearance, Locatelli has two bites of the cherry from close range - international teammate Donnarumma denying him on both occasions. The big keeper has really earned his generous pay packet today!22:42

  11. 78'

Galtier also throws on Danilo, and his compatriot Vitinha is the man making way in midfield.22:38

  12. 78'

One of PSG's new boys gets a chance to shine on the grand stage, as Mukiele is introduced for Hakimi, who set up the hosts' second goal.22:37

  13. 76'

After completing a quick recovery, Mendes returns from the touchline and the game resumes.22:36

  14. 75'

Mendes is down clutching his leg, and the action is paused while the medics are called onto the pitch. He looks in some pain.22:35

  15. 74'

Juventus go for a fresh approach on the right flank, as Cuadrado is withdrawn and De Sciglio comes on.22:34

  16. 73'

Having made contact with Mbappe's face, in a 50-50 challenge for the ball, Danilo is rather harshly booked.22:33

  17. 71'

Again picking the ball up some 25 yards from goal, Messi drives forward into a shooting position, before firing a shot straight at Perin, which the Juve keeper comfortably saves.22:32

  18. 68'

Allegri opts for a change of tack, as powerful centre-forward Milik makes way for Locatelli, who will slot in to the Juve midfield.22:30

  19. 67'

Paredes stands off his international teammate for too long, so Messi treats himself to an attempt from the right side of the box, which curls about a yard wide of the far post.22:29

  20. 65'

For a ill-timed challenge on Rabiot in midfield, Verratti is shown a yellow card.22:26

  21. 63'

CLOSE! Paris are now pushing forward again, and after Verratti has a shot blocked, Messi releases Mbappe on the left side of the box. The latter slightly drags his shot, though, and it drifts narrowly wide of the right-hand post!22:25

  22. 60'

Paredes can only half-block an attempted throughball from Ramos just outside his own area, and the ball breaks to Mbappe, lurking nearby. However, he rushes a right-footed effort on the turn and it rises over the bar. That was a presentable chance to seal his hat-trick.22:23

  23. 58'

After a spell of midfield possession for Juve, Rabiot strides forward unchallenged and unleashes a firm strike past the left-hand post from just over 20 yards out. There's no doubt, Juventus have re-found their confidence and look a different proposition since the break.22:20

  24. 55'

SHARP STOP! Juve almost pull level, and PSG are rocking: Vlahovic's downward header across the six-yard box forces an excellent save from Donnarumma! Then, McKennie sends a follow-up effort high and wide. Things are getting very interesting in Paris now!22:18

  25. 53'

JUVE GET ONE BACK! The visitors had been getting some joy with a series of more direct attacks, and they break through PSG's defences from a well-worked set-piece. Kostic slings over an outswinging cross from the right, following a corner, and half-time sub McKennie rises highest to power home a header! The Bianconeri reduce their deficit: it's now just 2-1 to Paris!

    See Weston McKennie's player card22:20

    Weston McKennie
  26. 53'

Kostic took his time before delivering a precision cross from out near the left touchline, which picked out McKennie to head in Juve's first goal.22:16

  27. 51'

CLOSE! Just seconds after Juventus threatened at the other end, a lightning-fast break by Paris sees Mbappe haring down the right side of the area, but - overstretching - he steers his low shot into the side-netting from a tight angle. 22:11

  28. 49'

SAVE! Mendes zooms down the left flank and cuts a sharp ball back across the area for Neymar, and the Brazilian lets fly at goal from the edge of the box: it requires Perin to dive down to his right and make a smart save. 22:09

  29. 47'

Striking a dropping ball from 20 yards out, Kostic warms the gloves of Donnarumma, but his shot is too centrally placed and presents a simple task for the giant goalkeeper to save.22:06

  30. 46'

Having been booked during the first half, young Miretti makes way, as Allegri introduces McKennie in the Juve midfield.22:05

  31. 46'

We are back under way in Paris, and Juventus have made a half-time change.22:04

  32. Within 45 minutes of the 2022-23 Champions League kicking off, Mbappe has been busy setting new highs, as he has now scored eight times in his last eight games in the competition and is also the youngest player to score 35 goals - beating the old record of PSG teammate Messi.22:03

  33. Not only have Paris dictated the tempo for large swathes of the first half, and often bossed the ball, they have unsurprisingly shown the greater individual quality in the moments that matter, and deservedly lead by two goals. A lethal display from ice-cool Mbappe saw the striker net twice within the opening half-hour, aided by excellent assists from Neymar and Hakimi. Juve have rarely threatened to fight back, but Milik was close to scoring on one occasion - how can they find an extra gear, though, and get back into this match?21:56

  34. 45'+3'

    HALF-TIME: PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN 2-0 JUVENTUS21:50

  35. 45'+2'

After a little medical attention, Neymar is passed fit to continue, and what's left of the first half can resume.21:50

  36. 45'+1'

Neymar hits the deck again, as Miretti mistimes a sliding challenge and sweeps the Brazilian forward off his feet near the centre circle. The teenager is shown a yellow card.21:49

  37. 44'

The home side are cycling the ball around midfield, playing for the half-time whistle, but given their ability to create something from nothing, Juventus will be wary of conceding a late third before the break.21:48

  38. 42'

Messi's outswinging corner is headed clear of the area by a Bianconeri-clad defender, but the ball drops straight into the path of Verratti, who lurks on the edge of the box. Not known for his goalscoring prowess, the midfield metronome hacks a left-footed shot high and wide of the target.21:46

  39. 40'

Paris are staying disciplined here, keeping a shape and absorbing any pressure that their visitors can apply. Juve try switching flanks to open up space, but ultimately lose the ball.21:44

  40. 38'

Neymar makes a recovery from his knock, and the game is back under way. Can Juve strike back before half-time?21:41

  41. 36'

After neat footwork and interplay between Messi, Verratti and Neymar, the latter can't quite latch on to a throughball towards the six-yard box, as Perin dives at his feet to claim the ball. Neymar is down on the turf, apparently hurt, and there are claims that Cuadrado helped him on his way. The referee remains disinterested.21:41

  42. 34'

After being picked out by Messi, an ambitious Vitinha attempt sails high over the crossbar - he never really seemed set to strike that properly, and was well off target as a result.21:38

  43. 33'

After soaking up a little pressure, PSG are back in control of the ball now, but mostly circulating it around in midfield. They will surely be happy to retain this lead until half-time.21:37

  44. 31'

Cuadrado swings a free-kick in from the right, midway through the PSG half, and he picks out Bremer just inside the box. However, the Brazilian centre-back turns his header over the crossbar; leaving Donnarumma untroubled.21:35

  45. 29'

The game has a certain edge to it, without threatening to spill over, and Neymar is now penalised for a foul on Vlahovic.21:33

  46. 27'

As play finally gets back under way, PSG attempt a lofted free-kick over the top. Ramos reaches it near the left byline, but can only direct his first touch at himself and it bounces behind for a Juve goal-kick.21:32

  47. 25'

Having waded into the aftermath of Bremer's challenge on Mbappe, Ramos receives yet another Champions League booking to add to his collection.21:31

  48. 25'

For a foul from behind on Mbappe, Bremer is booked.21:30

  49. 24'

The game is brought to a halt, as an challenge between Bremer and Mbappe brings Ramos into the fray; shoving Paredes. The referee is deliberately explaining things to the players, as we wait for a re-start.21:30

  50. 22'

Having progressed into the Juve box from the right, Hakimi exchanged lightning-quick passes with Mbappe, who then struck the hosts' second goal.21:27

  51. 22'

MBAPPE DOUBLES UP! Another sharp one-two, followed by a decisive finish, gives Paris a two-goal lead! This time Hakimi is Mbappe's partner in crime, as they unlock the Juve defence with a couple of passes on the right, allowing the French forward to fire past Perin into the bottom-left corner! PSG 2-0 Juventus!21:26

  52. 21'

Still, PSG sit deep, allowing Juve onto them, but just when it seems that Milik will latch on to a clipped throughball down the centre, the flag goes up to indicate he was offside.21:23

  53. 19'

SUPER SAVE! Donnarumma is called into action; making a close-range stop from Milik's powerful header! The ball remains in the six-yard box, though, and Ramos has to contrive a back-flicked clearance from the follow-up by Vlahovic to get it away!21:22

  54. 17'

A rare spell of possession inside the Paris half comes to nothing for Juventus, as their passing lacks penetration and, twice, the ball is repelled when they attempt a throughball. This has been an issue for Juve all season, so they will need to improve in that regard.21:19

  55. 15'

The latest in a series of free-kicks to break up play sees Kostic brought down by Vitinha in midfield.21:18

  56. 13'

A clear pattern has been established, with PSG patiently probing inside the Juventus half and the visitors lined in neat defensive ranks across their penalty area.21:16

  57. 11'

Messi attempts a reverse ball over the top for Neymar on the left, but his effort is overhit and sails out of play for a goal-kick.21:14

  58. 9'

Amid a slightly scrappy phase of play, Vlahovic is caught offside by the Paris back line, as Juve seek a way back into the game.21:12

  59. 7'

Mbappe has now scored in each of his last five Champions League matches for the first time - the last player to complete such a feat for PSG was Neymar, back in November 2017.21:11

  60. 5'

PARIS LEAD! A lovely link-up between Neymar and Mbappe slices open the Juventus back line, and within a flash, PSG go in front! The Brazilian maestro lobs a cute ball over the top, into the six-yard box, where his colleague waits to smash the ball home past Perin, who could only get a futile fingertip to it! PSG 1-0 Juve!21:16

  61. 5'

Demonstrating all of his abundant vision and flair, Neymar lofts a deft ball over the opposition defence and into the path of Mbappe to score the opening goal.21:10

  62. 3'

On the counter, Juventus carve out half an opening, as Milik loops a header across goal from the right side of the area. Donnarumma is ultimately able to claim it, though, without too much trouble.21:06

  63. 2'

As PSG push on down the left, space opens up for Neymar to slot a throughball towards Mendes on the byline, but the latter's cutback is then cleared away for a throw-in.21:05

  64. 1'

Juventus kick off, and we are under way at the Parc des Princes!21:01

  65. The players are out on the pitch in Paris, amid an electric atmosphere, and with the iconic Champions League now observed, kick-off is just moments away!20:59

  66. Meanwhile, Juventus make several changes to the lineup which started their disappointing draw at Fiorentina on Saturday, as recent arrival Milik partners star striker Vlahovic up front. Max Allegri gives youth a chance, with teenager Miretti featuring in midfield alongside Rabiot and Paredes. Paul Pogba, Federico Chiesa, Wojciech Szczesny and former PSG man Angel Di Maria all remain absent through injury.20:56

  67. Paris have followed most pre-match predictions with today's starting XI, as their famous front three line up ahead of Vitinha and Verratti in midfield; recent signings Soler and Ruiz must make do with a place on the bench. Donnarumma starts in goal, consigning former cup keeper Navas to a substitute's spot. 20:51

  68. SUBS: Carlo Pinsoglio, Giovanni Garofani, Matias Soule, Federico Gatti, Mattia De Sciglio, Daniele Rugani, Manuel Locatelli, Nicolo Fagioli, Weston McKennie, Moise Kean, Alex Sandro.20:47

  69. JUVENTUS (3-5-2): Mattia Perin; Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Bremer; Juan Cuadrado, Fabio Miretti, Leandro Paredes, Adrien Rabiot, Filip Kostic; Arkadiusz Milik, Dusan Vlahovic.20:44

  70. SUBS: Keylor Navas, Sergio Rico, Renato Sanches, Nordi Mukiele, Fabian Ruiz, Carlos Soler, Hugo Ekitike, Danilo Pereira, Pablo Sarabia, Juan Bernat.20:42

  71. PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN (3-4-3): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Presnel Kimpembe, Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos; Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Marco Verratti, Nuno Mendes; Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar.20:39

  72. Twice European champions in the past, but having also lost seven finals down the years, Juventus kick off their latest quest to capture the Champions League trophy today. The Turin club have failed to reach even the quarter-finals of the three most recent editions: losing to Lyon, Benfica and Villarreal at the last-16 stage. This season, the new-look Bianconeri remain unbeaten in Serie A after five matches, though three draws see them four points adrift of Atalanta at the top of the table.20:36

  73. Hello and welcome to live coverage of today's Champions League Group H clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus at the Parc des Princes!20:30

  74. Eliminated last season by a gut-wrenching defeat to eventual champions Real Madrid at the last-16 stage, Paris Saint-Germain blew a two-goal lead at the Bernabeu on that occasion, but much has changed since. Christophe Galtier has succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in the dugout; producing five wins and one draw from his first six Ligue 1 matches in charge - the latest being a 3-0 win at Nantes last weekend. That leaves PSG ahead of arch-rivals Marseille on goal difference at the top of the domestic standings before getting their 11th consecutive Champions League campaign under way.20:33
