That's a game that won't live long in the memory for anyone inside the San Siro, but Milan won't care is it's put them to the top of Serie A! Torino offered next to nothing until the last fifteen minutes, and even then didn't really look like scoring in what was a dour game for the neutral. Torino drop to 13th, and don't look likely to beat any of the top teams based on the performance, but Milan will also need to improve insurmountably if they're to keep their place at the summit of the table.
Hard to pick a stand-out player in that match, but goalscorer Olivier Giroud not only proved the difference with his early winner, he also completed 23 passes in Torino's half, providing a constant outlet for Milan's long passes, and his ten aerial duels illustrated his industrious performance.
So Milan top Serie A, until Napoli's next match at the very least, and although their performance was sub-par at best, their winning streak under Stefano Pioli continues and is proof that they are a team who deserve to be classed as out-and-out title challengers in this season's Serie A.

FULL-TIME: MILAN 1-0 TORINO.22:43
90'+4'
CHANCE!!!!! Oh no!!! The goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic wins the first header from the corner, but Sanabria can't control his knock-down and the ball goes behind!!! That chance was nearly identical to Giroud's opener, but the Torino striker couldn't capitalise where the Milan man did so!22:42
90'+4'
Milinkvic-Savic is up for the free-kick, and Brekalo's vertical cross into the box bounces in front of Tatarusanu, who is forced to tip the ball around the outside of the post.22:41
90'+3'
Bakayoko is yellow carded for Milan, having brought down Lukic.22:40
90'+2'
Pobega and Brekalo link up down the left, but the latter's cross is gratefully caught in mid-flight by Tatarusanu.22:39
90'+1'
Ibrahimovic has the ball in the box and goes down under pressure from Rodriguez, but the referee waves away any possible protest from the Swedish striker.22:39
90'
There'll be four extra minutes in this second half as Milan close in on victory.22:38
89'
It's been far from a good performance in this second half for Milan, but every passing second is edging them closer to being top of Serie A at Napoli's expense.22:36
87'
Goalscorer Giroud comes off, and his place is taken by one Zlatan Ibrahimović.22:33
85'
Praet finds himself in shooting space from a loose ball and smashes the ball goalwards. It hits the floor as he hits it and loops over the bar, and Milan survive having conceded another good opportunity to the visitors.23:53
83'
Saelemaekers tees up Hernandez on the edge of the box, but his shot is wayward and flies wide to the left of the Torino goal.22:34
82'
Pobega brings down Bennacer, and Milan win a free-kick. The on-loan midfielder has been one of few bright sparks in this Torino team, and is perhaps looking to prove a point to Stefano Pioli.22:31
80'
Aina comes off for Torino, and it's an attack-minded replacement in former Italy striker Simone Zaza.22:27
79'
Milan have a sustained spell of possession on the edge of Torino's box, but Saelemaekers' eventual cross is easily caught by Milinkovic-Savic.22:26
77'
Torino's first real chance was set up by a throughball from the on-loan Praet, who leads Torino's players in terms of passing accuracy, and has one key pass, since his introduction.22:29
76'
CHANCE!!!! Tatarusanu is finally forced into a save as Sanabria is through on goal, his shot across goal hits the underside of the diving Milan keeper, and is still dribbling goalwards before Kjaer gets back to re-gain possession! A first real chance for Torino, and although they've left it late, at just 1-0 down it only takes one chance!22:24
75'
Singo is the next to be withdrawn for Torino, and is replaced by Mërgim Vojvoda.22:21
73'
Giroud is brought down in an attacking build-up for Milan, and with his number nine nowhere to be seen, Saelemaekers tries a shot from distance that flies high and into the crowd at the San Siro.22:21
72'
Kessie powers forward with the ball and feeds Saelemaekers, who finds Hernandez. His eventual cross is towards Bennacer, but Giroud unfortunately intervenes with a backheel that takes away Bennacer's chance to shoot.22:19
70'
Praet and Bakayoko tussle for the ball at pace, resulting in the Milan substitute going down and his Torino compatriot conceding a free-kick.23:53
68'
Milan capitalise on a loose ball and Calabria storms up the pitch. He has options but makes the pass more difficult for himself as he continues with the ball. His eventual cross isn't the best, but deflects behind for a corner to Milan regardless.22:15
66'
Krunic, who set up the game's only goal, is also replaced, by Ismael Bennacer.23:53
65'
Torino break forward and Brekalo has runners into the box, but chooses to play the ball to Singo on the edge of the box. The pass is underhit, however, and Singo can't keep possession under the immediate pressure of Krunic.23:54
65'
Tonali has arguably been Milan's standout player in this game, and Tiemoue Bakayoko comes on for him.23:54
64'
Rodriguez is given an awful hospital pass from Bremer, but the Swiss defender does well to avoid the immediate pressure of Saelemaekers and clears the danger.22:10
62'
Singo dawdles on the edge of the box and Torino's forward runners aren't happy, but his throughball to Praet does see the substitute win a corner off a Tomori deflection.22:09
61'
Tonali wins the ball by his own corner flag and looks to spark an attack, but his team-mates can't assist in his endeavours and Torino re-gain possession.22:07
59'
Bremer skilfully dispossesses Giroud and drives forward, feeding Lukic. The ball ends up with Aina, who's cross is over everyone, but Lukic can't follow in to Brekalo's knock-down and Milan clear the ball.23:54
57'
Pobega clatters into Kessie very late, and the on-loan Milan midfielder is booked by the referee.22:04
56'
Giroud's press has been excellent in this game, however he mistimes a tackle on Lukic and concedes an attacking free-kick.22:04
54'
That Belotti shot was his last contribution in this match, as Antonio Sanabria comes on in his place.22:02
54'
Linetty is withdrawn by Ivan Juric, and is replaced by on-loan Leicester midfielder Dennis Praet.22:01
53'
Belotti is in space and has a chance to shoot, however the Torino captain takes too long and by the time he does shoot, Kjaer is able to stick out a leg and blocks the shot.22:01
51'
Torino maintain a healthy spell of attacking possession deep in Milan's half, and Singo's battle with the Milan left-backs continues as he and Hernandez battle for the ball.21:58
50'
Tonali has helped Milan to control the midfield battle so far, winning possession seven times alongside completing two key passes.21:59
48'
Rodriguez whips in a Torino corner, but Pobega's header is too high and flies over the crossbar.21:55
46'
Torino get us back underway, and the second period is off and running!21:52
46'
Buongiorno ran the risk of a red card in that first half, and he's taken off for Ricardo Rodríguez for Torino.21:52
46'
Kalulu also comes off for Milan, replaced by Theo Hernández.21:52
46'
Milan captain Romagnoli, who was yellow carded in that first half, is replaced by Simon Kjær.21:51
The teams are back out for the second half, and let's hope that it brings even more goals than the first!21:51
They've not shown much class for their lead, but should Milan hold onto their lead, this will be their sixth win on the bounce in Serie A, a feat they’ve only achieved once before under Stefano Pioli.21:41
It's been a scrappy half, in which neither side has been able to really create any clear-cut opportunities; but of the one chance they did create, Milan took it. Giroud's opener from a yard out is all that separates the sides at the interval, and Torino really need to improve if they're to prevent Milan from topping Serie A by the end of the game. The Rossoneri will overtake Napoli with anything other than a defeat in this match.21:40
45'+1'
HALF-TIME: MILAN 1-0 TORINO.21:35
45'
Tonali swings in the free-kick at pace, but Krunic can't direct his header goalwards and the ball skims behind for a goal-kick, in the final action of the first half.21:35
45'
Saelemaekers looks to get around the outside of Buongiorno, but isn't successful and is outmuscled by the Torino defender, albeit illegally.21:34
43'
Giroud and Bremer fight for the ball in the corner, but this time the Torino defender wins the battle and forces Giroud to put the ball out for a goal-kick.21:32
41'
Milan have a free-kick from a relatively good position, and Tonali's deflected cross falls to Saelemaekers. His volleyed shot, however, is far from world-class, and rolls behind to the left of Milinkovic-Savic's goal.21:30
39'
Tommaso Pobega is on loan from Milan at Torino, and has impressed so far despite his side trailing. He leads the way for Torino shots with 2, and also has a team-high passing accuracy of 94.1 per cent.21:28
37'
Kalulu and Singo's battle down the right has been interesting so far, and the Torino man wins yet another free-kick from the Milan left-back.21:29
35'
Brekalo's free-kick puts Tatarusanu into action for the first time in this match, and the Milan keeper punches away the cross, in far from the most convincing manner, however.21:24
34'
Belotti and Singo play a great one-two, but Singo's run onto the throughball is halted as he's pulled back by Kalulu. The Milan defender is booked as a result of this.21:23
32'
Torino look to break forward through Brekalo, but his drive towards the edge of the box is halted by Saelemaekers.21:23
30'
Saelemaekers drives towards the box and Milan have an overlap, however the Belgian delays his pass and Leao's subsequent shot is scuffed and deflected away by Bremer.21:21
28'
A Linetty ball towards Belotti sees the Torino captain attempted a back-heeled volley, but Tomori is there to effectively deal with the danger.21:18
27'
Torino have a great chance for an attacking opportunity as Kalulu hesitates at the back post, but the away side's forwards can't get to the ball in time as Milan recover to clear.21:17
25'
Milan break forward once again and Kessie crosses into the box. Djidji heads away unconvincingly for Torino, and the referee isn't convinced by Saelemaekers' claims for handball against the Torino defender.21:16
24'
Leao looks to break forward again but is hacked down by Singo. The Torino wing-back receives a booking, his side's third in just 24 minutes.21:13
23'
Milan break up the pitch through Leao, and he puts the wideman Saelemaekers into space. His cross is deflected off Bremer however, and Milinkovic-Savic in the Torino goal gathers the ball thankfully.21:13
22'
Brekalo and Lukic link up and the former cuts a ball back into the box, but it's behind everyone and Singo can't capitalise in possession and loses the ball.21:11
20'
Tonali tries an ambitious half-volley from distance, but it's deflected high and away by Singo almost as soon as it leaves the Milan midfielder's boot.21:09
18'
Not only was that goal his fourth in just six Serie A games this season, Giroud has now matched that Balotelli record of scoring in his first three Milan matches at the San Siro!21:07
16'
Torino's Milan loanee Pobega brings down the captain of his parent club, Romagnoli, and a free-kick is blown against him.21:08
14'
That header from Krunic was impressive in itself, and his hard work was rewarded by a goal, that was Giroud's fourth in just six Serie A games this season.21:55
14'
GOOOALLLLL!!!!! There's the first goal!!!! Krunic meets the outswinging ball and diverts a header across goal. It lands at the feet of Giroud and Milan's Mr. Reliable taps in at the far post to make it 1-0 to the hosts!!! No matter which club he's playing for, or his country for that matter, you can never, ever rule out Giroud at set pieces!
Milan move the ball wide and a Saelemaekers cross is deflected behind by Aina, for the first corner of the game in Milan's favour.21:04
12'
Krunic looks to create space near the edge of Torino's box, but is crowded out by a flurry of defenders and loses possession.21:01
10'
It's Romagnoli and Belotti who clash this time, and the Torino captain comes off worse as Milan's skipper Romagnoli is booked.21:00
9'
Giroud and Buongiorno compete for an aerial ball and the Milan striker is upended and falls to the ground, hard. The Torino defender is lucky to avoid a second booking as Giroud receives treatment.20:59
7'
Although Torino scored three goals in their victory against Genoa last time out, they haven’t scored more than two in consecutive games since November 2020; and breaking that streak against a team with the second-best defensive record in the league will be no easy feat.20:56
5'
Saelemaekers looks to break forward but loses out in a tussle with Buongiorno; the Torino defender is judged to have impeded the Milan winger and gets the game's first yellow card.20:54
4'
Milan’s fans will likely be anticipating a home victory in this match, particularly given that in their last three Serie A meetings with Torino, Milan have won by an aggregate score of 10-0.20:53
2'
Singo rises above Kalulu to head the ball forwards to Linetty, but the Torino forward is brought down by Tonali for the first free-kick of the match.20:51
1'
We're underway at the San Siro, via the boot of Milan's Giroud!20:49
The San Siro is rocking as both sets of players enter the fray, and it’s almost time for the fun to begin!20:42
Torino captain Andrea Belotti also leads the line for his respective team, and has scored five times at the San Siro. Luckily for the hosts, though, four of those have been against their city rivals Inter, with Belotti's last strike against Milan in Milan coming in August 2016.20:36
Olivier Giroud starts as the lone frontman for the hosts. If he scores in this match, he'll become only the second player to score in each of his first three Serie A home appearances for AC Milan in the modern era, after Mario Balotelli in 2013.20:34

It’s been an indifferent start for the visitors though, with Torino having picked up just 11 points from nine fixtures, in coach Ivan Juric’s first season in charge. They’re 12th in the table, however a victory here would see them climb to eighth.20:24
Hosts Milan are neck-and-neck with Napoli at the top of the Serie A table, with the league’s two unbeaten sides separated only by goal difference in the Neapolitans’ favour.20:15
