Scamacca was again in the action to put Sassuolo ahead when his goalbound strike was diverted past Mike Maignan by Simon Kjaer. Domenico Berardi then continued his impressive record against Milan by scoring a third with a fine run and finish. Matters then got worse for the hosts when Romagnoli was dismissed for a professional foul on Gregory Defrel, capping off a disappointing afternoon.
Milan have to recover from their disappointment in their next Serie A outing against Genoa on the road on Wednesday. Sassuolo face another tough test in their next match at home to Napoli on the same day.
