An extremely enthralling match between Hellas Verona and Juventus comes to a close with the hosts earning all three points thanks to a 2-1 win. The work was done in the first half by Tudor’s men, thanks to two goals from Simeone in the opening 15 minutes; the second a sublime curler which left Szczesny helpless. Juventus found their attacking potency late in the second half and really put Verona under pressure, but a McKennie goal with 10 minutes remaining was not enough to get anything from the match as Allegri’s side fall to a second successive defeat. Juventus drop to ninth place, while Hellas Verona leapfrog their opponents and go into eighth.

Hellas Verona are in action again next Sunday, when they travel to face Napoli. Juventus host Zenit in Tuesday's Champions League action, before welcoming Fiorentina to the Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

That concludes our commentary of the Serie A fixture between Hellas Verona and Juventus! We hope you’ve enjoyed it!

  1. 90'+5'

    FULL-TIME: HELLAS VERONA 2-1 JUVENTUS. 19:57

  2. 90'+3'

The fourth official indicates that five minutes will be added to the end of the 90 for stoppages.19:58

  3. 90'+1'

Dybala takes a Juventus corner to the edge of the six-yard box, but it’s cleared immediately by Ceccherini - who manages to rise higher than Chiellini.19:52

  4. 89'

Juventus have thrown Bonucci up top in a desperate bid to find a late equaliser. The Bianconeri have been piling on the pressure in the late stages, but have yet to really trouble Montipo.19:49

  5. 87'

Tudor played for Juventus for six seasons between 1998 and 2005 in Serie A, making 110 appearances and netting 15 goals – this, however, is his first match as a manager against the Bianconeri in the top-flight.19:53

  6. 85'

It’s set up to be a grandstand finish at the Bentegodi as Juventus are turning up the intensity with five minutes remaining. They’ve left themselves a lot of work to do late, but it looks as though they may be capable of the comeback. 19:45

  7. 83'

Should Hellas Verona secure all three points, Simeone will be the hero. He's taken off with seven minutes left though, as Kalinic is chosen to see out the match. 19:44

  8. 82'

Pellegrini comes on for Sandro in a straight swap at left-back for Juventus. 19:44

  9. 80'

The right-back gets involved with an assist, finding McKennie in enough space to have a strike on goal. 19:42

  10. 80'

JUVENTUS STEAL ONE BACK! 2-1! Danilo makes an incisive pass from the right which finds McKennie in all kinds of space. The United States international takes a touch to set himself and fires a powerful strike which cannons off the underside of the crossbar and goes in!

  11. 78'

Caprari gets into the penalty area but he’s shown wide by Sandro, closing down the winger’s shooting angle. He eventually manages to get a strike off, but Szczesny makes a comfortable save.19:40

  12. 76'

Morata is shown a yellow card as well for lashing out after Gunter’s foul. That’s the second booking shown to a Juventus player this evening for retaliation as the Bianconeri’s frustration mounts. 19:39

  13. 76'

Gunter is shown a yellow card for tugging Morata back, cynically ending a potential Juventus attack.19:39

  14. 75'

Tameze is recalled to the bench with 15 minutes left after a thoroughly impressive shift. Bessa is sent on.19:36

  15. 73'

Simeone appeals for a penalty after he goes down inside the penalty area during an attempt to get the ball out from under his feet - but the match official is uninterested in the claims as play continues.19:35

  16. 71'

Dybala takes Veloso out with a cynical challenge in midfield right in front of the referee. The playmaker somehow avoids a booking but it’s a free-kick for Hellas Verona, which they use to play the ball back into defence in order to sap time off the clock.19:34

  17. 69'

Cuadrado's number goes up on the fourth official's board as he is recalled to the bench with 20 minutes remaining. Kulusevski is his replacement. 19:31

  18. 69'

Allegri makes another change in search of a way to cut the deficit. Bernardeschi is introduced for Arthur.19:30

  19. 67'

Casale is removed after coming dangerously close to a second booking. Ceccherini is his replacement. 19:30

  20. 67'

Sutalo is sent on for Lazovic as Tudor looks to hold the lead with just over 20 minutes remaining. 19:29

  21. 66'

Dybala has scored three of last Juventus' six goals at Bentegodi in Serie A against Hellas Verona (Blaise Matuidi and two Cristiano Ronaldo's goals are the other three in this period).19:27

  22. 64'

Cuadrado takes the set-piece looking for Chiellini but the ball is popped straight up into the air by a defender - allowing Montipo to rise highest to claim the second ball.19:24

  23. 62'

Casale is lucky to escape a second booking after attempting to volley a clearance near the byline on the left - but catching Dybala instead. It’s a free-kick for Juve in a dangerous position.19:24

  24. 61'

Arhur is booked for lashing out in frustration after Faraoni's infringement. 19:28

  25. 61'

Faraoni is given a yellow card for a foul on Arthur in midfield.19:22

  26. 60'

A Hellas Verona corner from the left is taken by Veloso, but Sandro gets to the delivery first - clearing his lines forcefully.19:21

  27. 57'

Bentancur also makes way just before the hour as McKennie is sent on in his place. 03:17

  28. 57'

Juventus make two changes in midfield; the first sees Rabiot replaced by Locatelli. 19:19

  29. 57'

A mistimed challenge on Dybala by Casale earns the defender a yellow card.19:19

  30. 55'

It’s Cuadrado’s turn to have a strike from distance, but the winger can only send his daisy-cutter harmlessly wide of the far post.19:16

  31. 53'

The ball comes to Dybala after a long Juventus passing move, but again the forward is unable to hit the target as he sends his long-range effort high and wide of the target.19:15

  32. 51'

Simeone gets free from Bonucci’s marking and has a strike at goal from a long way out - putting his effort right at Szczesny, who makes an easy stop.19:12

  33. 49'

CLOSE! Dybala takes a touch to set himself before firing a curler from 20 yards out - which again narrowly misses the far corner! 19:10

  34. 48'

Chiellini brings Simeone down cynically after being caught out of position and gives away a free-kick in midfield, right in front of the referee.19:08

  35. 46'

Juventus get the match restarted from the kick-off! 19:06

  36. Allegri has no other option but to instruct his side to attack at every opportunity, down two goals with half the match left to play. Despite the absence of Federico Chiesa, Juventus still have a couple of dynamic options to call upon from the bench, with Kulusevski and Jorge the most likely options. Hellas Verona should not sit back and soak up pressure in the second half though, as the hosts should still be able to control the rhythm of the match in the second half. There are definitely more goals to come in this fixture - which should make for an entertaining finish.18:51

  37. A thoroughly entertaining first half at the Bentegodi comes to a close with the hosts in a commanding 2-0 lead. Simeone’s incredible double inside the first 15 minutes of the match put Juventus on the back foot, a position the visitors were never able to recover from. A lack of cohesion between defence and midfield has led to a number of opportunities for Hellas Verona, while slow build-up play hasn’t allowed Allegri’s side to attack with any venom. Tudor’s XI have shaded possession as well as shots on target and total passes, which should be a concern for the Juventus coach. 18:49

  38. 45'+1'

    HALF-TIME: HELLAS VERONA 2-0 JUVENTUS. 18:49

  39. 45'

DYBALA HITS THE CROSSBAR! A good leading pass into the penalty area from Morata is met by a first-time effort with the in-step of Dybala’s weaker left foot - but the forward can only hit the woodwork before it pops up and over for a goal-kick.18:48

  40. 43'

Dybala sees the goalkeeper well off his line and attempts a volley from the centre-circle, which flies high over the target.18:57

  41. 41'

Sandro gets into the penalty area but without options to cross to, the left-back drives towards the byline and fires a shot at goal which only catches the side netting.18:44

  42. 39'

Juventus have scored in each of their last nine away league games (18 goals) – the last time they registered a longer streak was back in July 2020 (16 games in a row).18:43

  43. 37'

Hellas are keeping the ball just outside the Juventus penalty area, looking for a gap in the defence. With less than 10 minutes left in the half the hosts are in no rush to score again, preferring to control the tempo of the match as we approach the interval.18:41

  44. 35'

A one-two inside the Hellas Verona penalty area between Morata and Dybala gets the latter free for a shot, but his rushed half-volley is sent well over the crossbar.18:38

  45. 33'

Caprari’s outstretched leg catches the thigh of Cuadrado, who has taken quite a bit of damage in the opening half-hour. It’s a free-kick for Juve in midfield, which is taken short and quickly.18:37

  46. 31'

The Juventus defence has come up with no answers for Simeone, who is constantly finding himself in acres of space. The disconnect between Bonucci, Chiellini and the midfield is being exploited perfectly by Tudor’s side - who don’t look finished after two goals.18:36

  47. 29'

A cynical challenge from Danilo on Caprari near the technical area gets him in trouble with the referee - who produces a yellow card immediately. 18:33

  48. 28'

SIMEONE SCORES AGAIN BUT IT’S CHALKED OFF! Simeone finds the back of the net again with another spectacular curling effort, but a foul on Arthur in the build-up lets Juve breathe a sigh of relief as they clear their lines with a free-kick.18:32

  49. 26'

This time the free-kick is awarded, and Lazovic is shown a booking for going through the back of Cuadrado. 18:30

  50. 26'

Cuadrado is furious as he feels he should have received a free-kick in midfield after a duel to win the ball with Lazovic. The referee is happy to let play continue but it appears as though the Colombia international isn’t moving as freely as he was to start the game.18:29

  51. 24'

Juventus are looking desperately for a response but slow build-up play is allowing Hellas Verona to drop back into their shape and organise. It will take much faster interchanges if the Bianconeri want to catch their opponents out.18:28

  52. 22'

Simeone looks to wriggle free of Chiellini in pursuit of a first-half hat-trick, but Bonucci comes across to help out his team-mate and clear the danger.18:26

  53. 20'

Juventus have scored in each of their last 16 league games against Verona - among teams currently in Serie A, they’re only enjoying a longer run against Torino (21) and Lazio (17).18:25

  54. 18'

Allegri is furiously prowling his technical area as he hurls instructions at his players. It’s been an awful start for his side, who are still unable to get a foothold of possession.18:22

  55. 16'

Dybala goes wide! Juventus are looking for an immediate response as the Argentina international has a strike from 20 yards out - missing the bottom corner by inches!18:20

  56. 14'

Lazovic's pass finds the striker in space allowing Simeone to take his shot, which earns him an assist!18:20

  57. 14'

SIMEONE JUST CANNOT STOP SCORING! 2-0! Unbelievable goal from Simeone who doubles his tally in a matter of minutes! The striker receives a pass on the left edge of the penalty area and takes a touch to set himself before curling a tremendous strike into the far corner of the goal - giving Szczesny absolutely no chance!

    Giovanni Simeone
  58. 13'

Simeone has his fifth goal in his last two starts - after bagging four goals in Hellas Verona’s 4-1 win over Lazio. The son of the Atletico Madrid manager has been in incredible form this season - and it continues today.18:16

  59. 10'

SIMEONE PUTS HELLAS AHEAD! Barak manages to stay onside to receive a throughball on the edge of the penalty area, before firing a low shot towards Szczesny. The goalkeeper does well to make the initial stop but Simeone is in the perfect place to tap home the rebound! 1-0!

  60. 9'

CHANCE AT THE OTHER END! Dybala wriggles free from Casale 10 yards away from goal before putting a pass into the six-yard box for Morata. The Spain international attempts a lovely backheel shot but Montipo is equal to it!18:12

  61. 7'

GREAT SAVE! Caprari’s fancy footwork gets him free inside the penalty area before squaring a pass for Barak, who can only put a weak effort from close range right at the goalkeeper. Szczesny gets down well to make the initial stop - preventing a rebound of a corner in the process.18:12

  62. 5'

An early corner for Hellas Verona is swung in by Lazovic looking for Barak, but it’s hit beyond everyone as it rolls out for a throw-in on the far side.18:09

  63. 3'

Bentancur hooks a pass over his head from midfield which allows Morata to chase, but good defending from Gunter wins the ball back for Hellas Verona just outside Montipo’s 18-yard box.18:06

  64. 1'

Hellas Verona get the match underway from the kick-off! 18:03

  65. Juventus make six changes of their own as Max Allegri looks for a response after their 2-1 loss to Sassuolo in midweek. Szczesny is in for Perin between the posts, while Chiellini and Sandro replace De Ligt and De Sciglio in defence. The final three alterations are in midfield, as Cuadrado replaces the unavailable Federico Chiesa on the wing, and McKennie and Locatelli are dropped for Arhur and Bentancur in the middle of the park.17:53

  66. Hellas Verona make six changes from their 1-1 draw with Udinese last time out. Veloso is pushed into midfield which means wholesale changes in defence as Dawidowicz, Gunter and Casale get the nod ahead of Magnani, Ceccherini and Hongla. Lazovic comes into midfield replacing Sutalo while in attack, Simeone and Caprari are preferred to Kalinic and Lasagna.17:53

  67. JUVENTUS SUBS: Carlo Pinsoglio, Federico Bernardeschi, Dejan Kulusevski, Luca Pellegrini, Manuel Pellegrini, Mattia Perin, Matthijs De Ligt, Weston McKennie, Kaio Jorge.17:47

  68. JUVENTUS XI (4-4-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Juan Cuadrado, Rodrigo Bentancur, Arhur, Adrien Rabiot; Paulo Dybala, Alvaro Morata. 17:47

  69. HELLAS VERONA SUBS: Kevin Lasagna, Matteo Cancellieri, Martin Hongla, Kevin Ruegg, Nikola Kalinic, Federico Ceccherini, Daniel Bessa, Ivor Pandur, Giangiacomo Magnani, Alessandro Berardi, Basko Sutalo, Yildirim Mert Cetin.17:47

  70. HELLAS VERONA XI (3-4-3): Lorenzo Montipo; Pawel Dawidowicz, Koray Gunter, Nicolo Casale; Marco Davide Faraoni, Adrien Tameze, Miguel Veloso, Darko Lazovic; Antonin Barak, Giovanni Simeone, Gianluca Caprari.17:46

  71. With 15 minutes to go before half-time, let's take a look at how the two sides are lining up - starting with our hosts! 17:45

  72. A shocking 95th minute goal from Maxime Lopez condemned Juventus to a 2-1 defeat at home against Sassuolo; their first league loss since a fixture against Napoli at the beginning of September. Sitting in seventh place, the Bianconeri could go level with Lazio in sixth should they manage the three points - after the Biancocelesti’s draw with Atalanta earlier today. 17:35

  73. Igor Tudor welcomes his former club to the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi as Hellas Verona are looking to beat Juventus for the second time in four meetings. A late Antonin Barak penalty saw the Gialloblu take a point from Udinese last time out, which put them smack in the middle of the table in 10th place. Only Milan and Inter have scored more than Hellas so far this season, with their 22 goals level with league-leaders Napoli.17:35
