Milan extend their lead at the top of Serie A to four points after a 2-0 victory over Torino thanks to first half strikes from Leao and Kessie. Torino were awarded a penalty of their own in the second half, but this was overturned after VAR intervened and the referee reviewed the footage. Milan then saw the game out, to bounce back from their midweek defeat.

Torino drop down to 19th after this defeat, two points from safety. The two sides will face each other again in just a few days time, this time in the Coppa Italia.

That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!

  1. 90'+6'

    FULL-TIME: MILAN 2-0 TORINO22:46

  2. 90'+4'

Milan are camped inside their own half at the moment as the Torino pressure builds, however, the hosts have defended well throughout and it looks like it will take something special to beat them today.22:45

  3. 90'+2'

Another late yellow card is shown here, this time it is to Segre.22:42

  4. 90'+1'

SAVE! Donnarumma is called into action to deny Torino a goal in stoppage time! Segre fires a shot towards goal from the edge of the box, which seems to be heading off target, but it takes a big deflection off a Milan defender and flies towards goal, forcing the keeper to change his footing and make a superb diving save to his right.22:54

  5. 90'

There will be a minimum of six minutes added time played at the end of the second half.22:40

  6. 88'

The hosts are starting to take their time with any set pieces now, just slowing the pace and clock down as much as they can in order to see the game out.22:39

  7. 85'

Torino make a change, with Belotti heading off and he has been replaced by Bonazzoli.03:00

  8. 85'

Hauge is the other player to be taken off and he has been replaced by Maldini.22:36

  9. 85'

Milan make their final changes of the game, the first sees the return of Ibrahimovic as he replaces Leao.22:36

  10. 85'

Calabria is shown a late yellow card.22:35

  11. 83'

The visitors need to get a goal now if they are to get anything out of this game, as there isn't long left to play.22:34

  12. 81'

Belotti is down on the pitch receiving some medical treatment at the moment after he is caught late following a sliding challenge. However, it looks like he will be fine to continue.22:32

  13. 79'

Leao is booked for diving, after he raced forward on the counter and seemed to anticipate contact from a Torino player, which didn't come.22:31

  14. 79'

Into the wall! Verdi steps up to take a free-kick, but the Milan wall do a very good job and block the effort, sending it out wide for a corner.22:29

  15. 78'

Free-kick to Torino around 20 yards out and in a good shooting position after Belotti is fouled by Kjaer. A similar position to where Rodriguez hit the crossbar from the first half.22:28

  16. 76'

Another change by the visitors now, with Rincon the man coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Segre.22:26

  17. 76'

Wild effort! Castillejo finds space on the edge of the box as a corner is delivered towards him, but he takes the shot first-time on the volley and gets it all wrong, with the strike flying well wide.22:26

  18. 74'

Ibrahimovic is getting warmed up on the sidelines, he is back in the Milan squad for the first time since November. Will we see a cameo from him today?22:24

  19. 72'

Decent chance! Belotti manages to get in front of his marker as a corner is whipped into the box, he heads it down, but it is straight at Donnarumma, who comfortably gathers.22:23

  20. 70'

There is still plenty of time for Torino to get back into this game, with 20 minutes remaining on the clock. However, they just seem to be short of ideas up top at the moment.22:20

  21. 68'

Milan have conceded seven of their last nine Serie A goals in the second half, five of them in the first 20 minutes after the half-break.22:18

  22. 66'

Kjaer does well to read a set piece delivery from the left wing, as he flicks it over his own crossbar and out for a corner, as it was heading straight towards Donnarumma.22:17

  23. 65'

Dalot is booked after he rugby tackles Murru to the ground in order to stop him from breaking into the penalty area.22:15

  24. 64'

The other Torino substitution sees Rodriguez leave the pitch and he has been replaced by Murru.22:15

  25. 64'

The visitors make a double change now, the first of which sees Izzo come off and he has been replaced by Zaza.22:14

  26. 63'

Milan look very content with their 2-0 lead now, they haven’t really pushed forward in search of a third goal in this second half, just playing the ball at a slow pace to control it when they get in possession.22:13

  27. 61'

Almost! Singo does brilliantly down the right wing, he manages to get all the way to the six-yard box and then tries to beat Donnarumma from a very tight angle. However, Romagnoli gets across and makes a great block to deny him the opportunity.22:12

  28. 60'

Another Milan change now, with Diaz the man coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Calhanoglu.22:10

  29. 58'

Torino are keeping the ball well at the moment, but much of it is in the middle of the pitch as Milan are pressing them high and not allowing them much time and space to get near the final third.22:08

  30. 56'

Milan are unbeaten in their last 24 Serie A home games against Torino (W16 D8), keeping 17 clean sheets in the process – the last Torino win in this exact fixture was back in March 1985: 1-0 thanks to a Walter Schachner goal.22:05

  31. 54'

Here is the enforced Milan substitution, with Tonali leaving the pitch on a stretcher and he has been replaced by Dalot.22:05

  32. 53'

There is a big problem for Tonali here, he went down and stayed down after the coming together in the box with Verdi and it doesn’t look like he is going to be able to continue.22:04

  33. 52'

NO PENALTY! The referee has changed his mind after reviewing the footage and Milan have now been awarded a free-kick. Belotti is arguing the case for his side, but the original penalty decision has been overturned.22:03

  34. 51'

VAR are taking a look at this decision and the referee is reviewing the footage on the monitor as it looks like Verdi may kick his own leg which causes him to trip and fall.22:02

  35. 50'

TORINO PENALTY! The referee shows no hesitation with this penalty decision, pointing to the spot straight away after Tonali runs into the back of Verdi, putting a hand on the back of the Torino man and trips him up as he goes to shoot.22:01

  36. 48'

Blocked! Rincon fires a powerful strike towards goal from long range, but Diaz is well placed to make the block and clear the danger.21:59

  37. 46'

The second half is under way!21:57

  38. 46'

Torino have made a substitution ahead of the second half, with Gojak the man coming off and he has been replaced by Linetty.21:57

  39. Donnarumma is yet to have a save to make in the Milan goal, so Torino need to change this if they are going to get back in the game. Belotti and Verdi have done more defending then they have attacking so far.21:46

  40. Milan lead 2-0 at the break after goals from Leao and a penalty from Kessie, though the latter coming only after a lengthy VAR review awarded the spot-kick. The hosts had the better chances and almost made it 3-0 just beofre the break, but Kessie was brilliantly denied by Sirigu. Meanwhile, the closest Torino have gone is a Rodriguez free-kick that struck the crossbar.21:48

  41. 45'+3'

    HALF-TIME: MILAN 2-0 TORINO21:38

  42. 45'+2'

CHANCE! Milan almost make it 3-0 just before the break! The hosts catch Torino out on the break and they race forward in numbers, with Kessie getting into the box. He is played through on goal with just Sirigu to beat, but the keeper makes himself as big as possible and makes a superb stop.21:47

  43. 45'+2'

Tonali is booked after he tugs at the shirt of Gojak and brings him down inside the Milan half as he looked to break forward on the counter.21:36

  44. 45'

There will be a minimum of three minutes added time played at the end of the first half.21:34

  45. 44'

There isn’t much time left on the clock before the end of the first half now, can Torino pull a goal back before the half-time whistle?21:33

  46. 43'

OFF THE BAR! Rodriguez steps up to take a free-kick, curling it over the wall and towards the top right-hand corner of the net, which has Donnarumma beaten. However, it just doesn’t dip in time and it cannons off the crossbar and Milan then clear the danger.21:32

  47. 41'

Romagnoli is booked after he catches Lyanco late around 25 yards out and it hands Torino a free-kick in a good shooting position.21:31

  48. 40'

Milan have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three Serie A home matches and could record four in a row for the first time since 1950.21:27

  49. 38'

Diaz is the first Milan player to be booked after he trips up Belotti as he tried to break away into the final third.21:27

  50. 36'

GOAL! Milan double their lead, it's 2-0! Kessie steps up to take the penalty and he coolly converts, sending Sirigu the wrong way as he slots the ball into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

    See Franck Kessié's player card21:26

    Franck Kessié
  51. 35'

MILAN PENALTY! The referee changes his mind and awards Milan a penalty following the challenge by Belotti on Diaz. So the hosts have the chance to double their lead from the spot.21:24

  52. 34'

VAR are taking a long time to make up their mind on the penalty decision, with the referee still reviewing the video footage on the pitch side monitor.21:23

  53. 32'

PENALTY CHECK! Diaz races past Verdi and gets into the penalty area and then takes on Belotti, who sticks out a leg and the Milan man goes down and immediately appeals for a penalty. Nothing is given on the pitch, but VAR are taking a look at it.21:25

  54. 30'

We’re at the half an hour mark now at San Siro and it is Milan who lead 1-0, thanks to the 25th strike from Leao.21:22

  55. 28'

Torino may now need to push forward a little more to try and test Donnarumma as they have defended for much of the opening period. Milan look keen to go on and double their lead as quickly as they can.21:20

  56. 27'

The first yellow card of the game is shown to Rincon after he barged into Hernandez and the left-back has to receive some medical treatment following the challenge.05:14

  57. 25'

Hernandez has to take a lot of the credit for that goal as well as Diaz, as it was the left-backs run that created the space and Diaz then showed great vision to spot Leao in space in between the Torino centre-backs.21:46

  58. 25'

GOAL! Milan take the lead, it’s 1-0! Hernandez cuts in from the left wing and races past a couple of Torino defenders, before quickly laying it off to Diaz, who then flicks it through to Leao who gets in behind and slots it comfortably past Sirigu and into the back of the net.

  59. 23'

Just prior to the Torino free-kick a moment ago, the referee went over to the touchline and showed the Milan manager Stefano Pioli a yellow card for arguing the set piece decision.21:45

  60. 22'

This is better from Torino, they manage to win a free-kick deep inside the Milan half after Calabria fouls Lukic down the right-wing. A chance for them to get players into the box and create something in front of goal.21:45

  61. 20'

After the defeat against Juventus, AC Milan could lose two Serie A matches in a row for the first time since November 2019 (v Lazio and Juventus).21:09

  62. 18'

Almost! Diaz plays a lovely one-two with Kessie down the right wing and he drills a low cross into the six-yard box from the byline, looking for Hauge, who didn’t read it as quickly as he could have done, as he would have had a tap-in from just a couple of yards out. Instead Izzo gets back and manages to flick it out for a corner.21:45

  63. 17'

Decent effort! Hernandez doesn’t have much else on in front of him, so he opts to drill an effort towards goal from long range. However, it doesn’t trouble Sirigu as it flies wide of the Torino goal.21:06

  64. 15'

It’s all Milan at the moment, they are keeping the ball well and are forcing their opponents to get everyone back behind the ball and defend. Torino are yet to get into the final third and test Donnarumma.21:04

  65. 13'

Tonali steps up to take a free-kick, drilling it low and hard towards the bottom right-hand corner of the net. However, Izzo reads it well and sticks out a leg to divert it away from danger and behind for a corner.21:03

  66. 12'

Free-kick to Milan in a very good position after Hernandez races forward and is tripped up by Izzo just on the edge of the penalty area. This is an excellent shooting opportunity, can Milan open the scoring here?21:44

  67. 10'

Castillejo does well down the right wing and manages to win a corner, after his attempted cross into the box is blocked by Rodriguez. Milan take the corner short, but the ball into the penalty area is well cleared by the visitors.21:44

  68. 8'

Milan are unbeaten in 23 of their last 25 Serie A meetings against Torino (W12 D11) – however, the two defeats came in the last three matches.20:57

  69. 6'

Decent ball over the top of the Torino defence which Leao sprints forward to try and get on the end of, catching the visitors out at the back. However, there is slightly too much on the pass and Sirigu comes out to gather.20:55

  70. 4'

The game is quite scrappy in these opening few minutes, with both teams battling for possession of the ball in the middle of the park.20:53

  71. 2'

CLOSE! Sirigu tries to play the ball out from the back, but he doesn't release it quickly enough and he ends up passing it straight into the onrushing Castillejo, bouncing off the Milan man and flying towards goal. Luckily for the Torino keeper it goes wide of the goal.21:35

  72. 1'
