Vlahovic’s wicked free-kick goal after just two minutes was cancelled out just over an hour later by Abraham’s close-range finish after a sensational Dybala scissor-kick assist as Juventus and Roma will have to settle for a 1-1 draw. Both sides conceded their first goals of the season as Szczesny and Patricio were made to work hard for their point. Roma grew into the game as it wore on but largely looked second-best, with Vlahovic and Cuadrado giving the Giallorossi defence a difficult evening. Both coaches made changes that largely failed to alter the flow of the match with a tie the fair result. The final score means Roma go into third while Juventus sit sixth.
Juventus take to the pitch again in midweek when they host Spezia. Roma will look for a win at home on Tuesday against Monza.
That concludes our commentary of the Serie A fixture between Juventus and Roma! We hope you’ve enjoyed it!

73'
Kostic hooks a cross into the penalty area for Vlahovic, who goes down during a tussle with Ibanez. The striker immediately looks to the referee in expectation of a penalty but instead the match official gives Roma a free-kick inside their penalty area for a shove on the centre-back.20:04
71'

69'
ABRAHAM LEVELS THE SCORE! 1-1! Pellegrini takes a corner-kick deep to the far post, where it’s met by a sensational Dybala scissor-kick. The inspired hit plays the ball back across the face of goal where it’s turned home by Abraham!
Dybala and El Shaarawy combine well to open up space in the penalty area for Abraham but the striker is unable to get any power behind his half-volley, giving Szczesny an easy save to make.19:57

Rabiot will not be able to see out the match. Zakaria is selected to take his place.19:47
56'
Play is halted momentarily for Rabiot, who has gone down off the ball. His expression doesn’t look promising as Allegri starts making preparations on the bench. 46'
Mourinho makes two changes - with the second one very attacking. El Shaarawy comes in for Mancini.19:34
46'
Zalewski comes on for Spinazzola as Roma make a change at the half.19:34
Already a goal behind, Roma must come forward and attack in the second half, which could expose further gaps in their back line. The pace of Celik down the right as well as El Shaarawy’s guile could pay dividends when trying to unlock Juve’s defence. As for the hosts, Allegri will first and foremost count on a clean sheet, with McKennie, Zakaria and Rugani all available to help hold the lead.19:18
The first half at the Allianz Stadium comes to a close with Juventus ahead by a goal to nil, thanks to Vlahovic’s free-kick strike just 120 seconds into the contest. Looking comfortable without the ball, the hosts looked to hit on the counter quickly via Cuadrado and Kostic, a tactic that brought with it a number of attacking set-pieces in dangerous areas. The pace of the Colombia international almost brought a second goal but Locatelli’s phenomenal hit was cancelled out by a handball earlier in the move. Roma for their part contributed very little going forward, managing just a single shot on-target and largely failing to break down Allegri’s side.19:18

45'

It’s Cuadrado who takes responsibility for the set-piece. Hitting a low curler that forces Patricio to get down low to make the save.19:07
35'
Smalling charges through the back of Vlahovic and gives Juventus a free-kick in a central position 20 yards from goal. Can the Serbia international double his tally from another set-piece?19:05
33'
Dybala wriggles free of Bremer as he looks to spark a counter-attack but he’s bowled over by Miretti, ending Roma’s attack in the centre-circle.19:04

29'
Juventus have won 85 of their 176 Serie A games against Roma (D50 L41) including the last three; against no team do the Bianconeri have more wins in the top-flight – the last time they achieved four straight wins against the Giallorossi was in August 2009.19:01
27'
Roma have been given a lifeline following the disallowed goal, with the visitors again caught on the counter-attack. They’ve failed to produce much going forward but going two goals down would be a real confidence blow before the half-hour mark.19:00
25'
JUVENTUS DOUBLE THEIR ADVANTAGE BUT IT WON’T COUNT! Cuadrado plays a lovely pass to the edge of the 18-yard box for Locatelli, whose sweet first-time curling effort leaves Patricio no chance! The home support erupt into a frenzy but after a VAR review the goal will not stand, as there was a Vlahovic handball in the build-up to the goal.18:59
23'
Miretti catches the outstretched back leg of Dybala, sending the former Juventus forward to the ground in a heap. It’s a free-kick for Roma in their own half which they use to clear their lines with Spinazzola.18:55
21'
Roma are again unable to unpick the lock and find a way through Juve’s defence, with a congested centre of the pitch around Szczney’s penalty area frustrating Dybala and his penchant for cutting inside.18:53
19'
Locatelli is a bit too physical in his attempt to keep possession under pressure from Pellegrini, giving away a free-kick in midfield; a risky move considering he was already booked.18:50
17'
Play is stopped for Cuadrado, who has gone down under the weight of an Ibanez slide during an attempt to close down a shot. The versatile Juventus captain should be okay to continue after taking a moment to gather himself.18:48
15'
Spinazzola bursts forward down the left before laying it off to Abraham but the striker is left without options on the corner of Juve’s penalty area, allowing Allegri’s side to track back and reorganise - forcing the hosts to turn back and slow the pace of the attack.18:47

10'
The referee is forced to step in to separate Vlahovic and Mancini, with the physical match official shoving away players to avoid a potential fracas. He keeps his cards in his pocket and manages to diffuse the situation with Juventus restarting play with a throw.18:41
9'
Cristante hits a fantastic switch out to the left wing for Spinazzola but the Italy international’s first touch lets him down, allowing Cuadrado to come across and win back possession deep in his own half.18:40
7'
Pellegrini shapes himself to curl a wicked shot from a central position from 25-yards out but Szczesny makes the easy catch.18:39
6'
Locatelli is shown the first yellow card of the match for cynically pulling down his former team-mate, Dybala.18:38
4'
It’s the perfect start for the hosts, who have taken the lead in under 120 seconds against a side who had not yet conceded this season. Mourinho is looking a frustrated figure on the touchline as Juventus come forward again looking to double their lead early.18:36
2'
VLAHOVIC OPENS THE SCORING! 1-0! The Serbia international steps up and smashes a free-kick off the underside of the bar and into the goal, leaving Patricio rooted to the spot!
Matic is late to the ball and takes Cuadrado down as a result, giving Juventus a free-kick 23 yards from goal.18:32

With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let’s take a look at how the two sides are lining up - starting with our hosts!18:12
Roma also come into this fixture after back-to-back clean sheets, with Mourinho’s side registering two 1-0 wins over Salernitana and Cremonese to start the campaign. Having lost both meetings between the two sides last year by a single goal, the Giallorossi have curiously won their last two games against the Bianconeri in the month of August.18:04
Juventus welcome Roma to the Allianz Stadium on the back of two-straight clean sheets to open the season, though their most recent outing was not an especially electric affair; 0-0 against Sampdoria. The Bianconeri will today be looking to replicate the performance that saw them smash Sassuolo 3-0 in the opener, though it will be a difficult task against a Jose Mourinho side and without Angel Di Maria.18:04
