Another match, another three points for Juventus - who extend their unbeaten run in Serie A to 11 to start the year. Dybala’s slotted opener was cancelled out surprisingly by a Sturaro volley - but two late penalties conceded in a sloppy final 15 minutes by Rovella and Perin allowed Ronaldo and the Bianconeri to take and then double the lead. The hosts were clinical, scoring with one of only two shots on target, but ultimately failed to sustain pressure on a comfortable Juventus defence. After having three goals cancelled out for various infringements, the Bianconeri will just be happy with the win; a result that cuts their distance from the top to three points ahead of Milan’s match later on.

Genoa travel to face league leaders Milan in three days, while Juventus return to Turin to host Atalanta.

That concludes our commentary of the Serie A fixture between Genoa and Juventus! We hope you enjoyed it!

  1. 90'+4'

    FULL-TIME: GENOA 1-3 JUVENTUS. 19:55

  2. 90'+3'

Bani goes over the back of Morata in order to win a header - but he's done so unfairly as he's shown a yellow card. 19:55

  3. 90'+1'

The fourth official indicates three minutes will be added for stoppages. 19:52

  4. 90'

Dragusin replaces De Ligt as we enter stoppage time. 19:52

  5. 89'

GOAL! 3-1! Ronaldo goes the same way, but lifts it high into the roof of the net this time, giving Perin no chance to make a save! 3-1!

  6. 88'

ANOTHER PENALTY TO JUVE! Pellegrini plays an awful pass back to Perin, inviting Morata to latch onto it. The goalkeeper comes off his line and flails at the ball, making clear contact with the striker to bring him down. The visitors are given a chance to double their lead late from the penalty spot as the goalkeeper is booked. 19:51

  7. 83'

Pirlo sends Bernardeschi on in Chiesa's place to see the match out. 05:22

  8. 83'

Kulusevski gets seven minutes on the pitch, while Dybala earned an early rest. 19:57

  9. 83'

The newly introduced Caso is taken down cynically by Bentancur - earning the Juventus midfielder a yellow card. 19:44

  10. 82'

Two changes at once for Genoa as Caso is sent on in Radovanovic's place. 19:44

  11. 82'

Rovella is replaced by Pandev as Genoa are once again forced to chase a result.19:44

  12. 80'

Juventus retake the lead - and it’s fully merited as Juventus have been the better side all day. Despite the lack of sharpness in front of goal, the Bianconeri have completely dictated play and forced Genoa to chase for 80 minutes.19:58

  13. 78'

Ronaldo caps his 100th appearance for Juventus in all competitions with a goal, hammering his shot from the penalty spot past Perin, who dives the wrong way. 2-1 Juventus!

  14. 77'

McKennie gets into a bit of a shoving match with Behrami prior to the penalty being taken - and gets his name in the referee’s notebook as a result.19:40

  15. 75'

PENALTY TO JUVENTUS! Cuadrado beats Rovella for pace and gets into the penalty area, forcing the defender into a mistimed sliding challenge. It’s clearly a foul despite the protestations of innocence - giving Ronaldo a chance to take the lead.19:38

  16. 73'

Both of Genoa's starting strikers have now been substituted, as former Juventus player Pjaca makes way for Shomurodov. 19:35

  17. 71'

McKennie sprays a pass forward for Dybala, who continues to take up space closer to the wing. It’s put back to the midfield before filtering to Chiesa on the right, the winger putting in a dangerous cross to Ronaldo. It’s a cleanly taken header from the Portugal captain, but Perin makes a good save to keep the sides level.19:34

  18. 69'

Bani uses his strength to push Chiesa off the ball cleanly, before winning a throw-in deep in Genoa’s half. It’s a clever bit of defending from the centre-back to win possession in a potentially dangerous area. 19:32

  19. 67'

Pirlo makes a change as he looks for the three points - sending Morata on and taking Rabiot off. 19:29

  20. 66'

Maran makes a switch in attack as Destro is in for Scamacca. 19:28

  21. 66'

The goal scorer is replaced as Behrami comes on for Sturaro. 19:28

  22. 65'

AGAIN JUVE SCORE BUT AGAIN IT’S WIPED AWAY! It’s the third time this match that a Juventus goal has not stood - and this time it’s because Dybala was offside after following up on Ronaldo’s rebound to tuck it past Perin. The match remains 1-1 as the visitors continue to pile forward.19:28

  23. 63'

Completely against the run of play, Genoa have found an equaliser with just their first shot on target. The Juventus players look stunned at having conceded, but they’re going to have to find another goal from somewhere if they wish to continue putting pressure on leaders Milan.19:26

  24. 61'

On-loan from Juventus, Pellegrini is credited with the assist for Sturaro's goal - who himself is formerly of the Bianconeri. 19:25

  25. 61'

STURARO SCORES AGAINST HIS FORMER SIDE! 1-1! Pjaca cuts inside from the left wing and passes to Pellegrini, who looks up and floats a cross to the far post. Sturaro goes up unmarked and stabs a volley past Szczesny from an acute angle!

  26. 59'

Juventus find the back of the net yet again, but the referee wipes the goal away after Chiesa was unable to get back onside to receive Ronaldo’s pass before beating Perin from close range.19:21

  27. 57'

McKennie's start to life in Italy gets even better with an assist after his headed pass found Dybala in space. 19:20

  28. 57'

DYBALA FINDS THE BREAKTHROUGH! 1-0 JUVENTUS! His first goal of the season is a timely one, giving his team the lead after getting on the end of McKennie’s reverse header down the right wing before bringing it into the penalty area and sending Perin the wrong way, tucking it neatly in the bottom corner!

    See Paulo Dybala's player card19:19

    Paulo Dybala
  29. 54'

Cuadrado takes a free-kick from the right towards the six-yard box for Ronaldo, but it’s defended well by Rovella. It’s all for nought in the end regardless, however, as two Juventus players were offside during the delivery.19:17

  30. 52'

Chiesa breaks forward but slows down to play it for Alex Sandro. The Brazil international looks up and puts a low cross in, but it fails to beat the first defender as it’s put out for a throw.19:15

  31. 50'

Chiesa lifts it into the penalty area for McKennie, who continues to surge forward at every opportunity. This time he attempts a backheel pass for Ronaldo, but a Genoa defender steps in for a timely interception.19:14

  32. 48'

Dybala heads down the right wing and floats a cross into the penalty area under pressure from Masiello, sending the delivery right into the expecting arms of Perin.19:10

  33. 46'

Genoa get the match restarted from the kick-off, with all still to play for! 19:08

  34. Just like last week against Torino, Juventus will continue to pile pressure on their opponents - forcing them to be flawless in defence if they wish to get something from the match. With experienced campaigners like Behrami and Pandev available, you know Genoa won’t go down without a fight - but Juve may prove to have too much quality in reserve. With Morata, Ramsey and Kulusevski all able to decide a match in a moment, it’ll be up to Pirlo to pick the right substitutions in order to win the match.18:55

  35. The two teams head into the interval level at 0-0 after a first half in which only one side has been actively involved. Juventus kept their opponents to a single shot and less than 30 percent possession in an opening 45 minutes in which they’ve also somehow managed to not score. McKennie has continued his lively start to his Juventus career, constantly posing a threat inside the penalty area from set-pieces, but Dybala has had desperately little impact in a match which could really use his creativity. It looks only a matter of time until Juventus score, but Maran cannot fault his side’s dogged defensive effort in the opening half.18:53

  36. 45'+2'

    HALF-TIME: GENOA 0-0 JUVENTUS. 18:51

  37. 45'+1'

Dybala whacks a shot towards goal with his left foot from outside the penalty area, but it's sent right to Perin who makes a clean catch. 18:51

  38. 45'

The fourth official indicates one minute will be added for stoppages. 18:51

  39. 43'

Cuadrado delivers a corner to McKennie, who beats both Scamacca and Masiello to get a head on the ball - putting the chance just over the crossbar.18:48

  40. 41'

Ronaldo cuts inside and takes a shot from 16 yards out which deflects off of a defender - looping it up harmlessly for Perin to gather.18:46

  41. 39'

Genoa have equalled their worst Serie A start in the three points for a win era, only picking up six points in their opening 10 games this season, exactly as in the 2017/18 season at this stage, when they closed the campaign in 12th place.18:45

  42. 37'

Masiello meets the delivery before a Juventus player but can only put it to the edge of the area. Lerager intercepts the eventual pass back into the box and storms forward, looking to set up a counter-attack, but his searching ball for Pjaca is wayward and intercepted by Chiesa.18:42

  43. 35'

Juve take a corner from the left to De Ligt, who winds up for a volley that he’s unable to hit as Scamacca gets a very important touch to it to put the ball behind for another corner.18:40

  44. 33'

Masiello wins the ball and steps forward to play a pass, which rolls limply into Juve’s half for De Ligt to recover as there were no Genoa players in the area. They’re doing alright soaking up the pressure, but Rolando Maran’s side have shown absolutely no ability to counter-attack thus far.18:38

  45. 31'

Juventus are pinning Genoa in their own half, but are unable to fashion a chance at goal after another hopeful cross is heaved in - this time looking for Ronaldo. Bani has no problems nodding it out for a throw as they successfully defend another delivery.18:36

  46. 29'

Alex Sandro uses his weaker right foot to play a lovely floated delivery into the penalty area for McKennie, who cushions a header down for Dybala. The Argentina international takes a poor first touch and gives it away to Masiello almost immediately as his issues continue.18:34

  47. 27'

Genoa have lost more Serie A games (64 out of 106) and conceded more Serie A goals (216) against Juventus than against any other opponent.18:32

  48. 24'

McKennie drags a shot to the far post after interchanging with Chiesa, but he’s unable to tuck it into the far corner while putting it just ahead of an oncoming Ronaldo.18:29

  49. 22'

Genoa are chasing shadows as Szczesny steps well outside of his penalty area to help play the ball across the defence. They’ve seen just over 30 percent possession in the opening 20 minutes - failing to trouble the goalkeeper at all in that time.18:27

  50. 20'

Juve started with three in defence, but Cuadrado’s ability to drop into full-back means they can easily switch to a more traditional four at the back. It’s keeping Genoa guessing in possession, as they’ve yet been able to find enough room to operate.18:25

  51. 18'

Bentancur takes a whack at goal from outside the penalty area after a poor clearance from Masiello but can’t find the target as Perin collects for the goal-kick.18:23

  52. 17'

Bentancur plays a lovely throughball that cuts through midfield to find McKennie. The American international plays it to Dybala, but the reverse pass is intercepted easily.18:22

  53. 15'

Ronaldo plays a little pass to Chiesa in midfield and Goldaniga storms through the back of the winger in a poor attempt to win the ball. It’s a yellow card for the Genoa defender - the second of the match.18:20

  54. 12'

Scamacca goes through on goal and gets clipped from behind by Bentancur, which sends the Genoa forward into the legs of Bonucci. All three players seem to be alright after taking a moment, but Juventus are given the free-kick for Scamacca’s charge into the Juve centre-back.18:16

  55. 10'

PERIN WITH A PUNCH! A Juventus corner is taken to McKennie, who has a moment to take the delivery off the chest before heading it towards the goalkeeper. It’s met with a flying fist that’s put behind after a great save.18:15

  56. 8'

Juventus play themselves into danger as Szczesny slips while playing a pass out from his own six-yard box to Alex Sandro. Genoa regain possession and win a free-kick in midfield after a cynical foul, but opt to take their time and play it backwards.18:13

  57. 6'

Alex Sandro plays a long, searching ball behind the defence for Chiesa, but he’s just a step behind the delivery as it rolls out for a goal-kick.18:10

  58. 4'

Sturaro takes a Genoa free-kick from the left but smashes the effort off the wall, allowing Juventus to recollect possession. It’s a wasted set-piece by the hosts, who could have put some early pressure on Szczesny.18:09

  59. 2'

Cuadrado takes an early Juventus free-kick to the back post for Bonucci, who heads it back across goal for Rabiot. It’s bundled into the back of the net but the midfielder very clearly uses his arms to push it past Perin. He’s shown a yellow card just two minutes after kick-off.18:08

  60. 1'

After a minute of silence for legendary Juventus and Italy striker Paolo Rossi, the Bianconeri get the match underway from the kick-off! 18:05

  61. Juventus make two changes from their narrow 2-1 win over Torino last weekend. Alex Sandro replaces Danilo in defence, while a change in formation necessitates another midfielder - allowing McKennie to play instead of Kulusevski.17:50

  62. Genoa make two changes from their 1-1 draw with Fiorentina last time out. Rovella replaces Cristian Zapata in defence, while Shomurodov is dropped for Pjaca, who is on-loan from Juventus. 17:53

  63. JUVENTUS SUBS: Aaron Ramsey, Radu Dragusin, Cosimo Marco Da Graca, Alvaro Morata, Dejan Kulusevski, Gianluigi Buffon, Manolo Portanova, Danilo, Franco Israel, Arthur, Gianluca Frabotta, Federico Bernardeschi.17:45

  64. JUVENTUS XI (3-5-2): Wojciech Szczesny; Matthijs De Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Juan Cuadrado, Weston McKennie, Rodrigo Bentancur, Adrien Rabiot, Federico Chiesa; Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo.17:45

  67. With 15 minutes to go before kick-off, let's take a look at how the two sides will line up, starting with the hosts! 17:45

  68. Juventus followed up last weekend’s late victory in the Turin derby with a midweek thrashing of Barcelona, leaving the Bianconeri as winners of their group. Today they’ll look to cut into Milan’s lead at the top of the table, with a win putting Andrea Pirlo’s side three points adrift ahead of the Rossoneri’s fixture with Parma later on.17:35

  69. Italy’s oldest football club welcome Juventus to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, currently occupying a spot in the bottom three. Despite a morale-boosting victory over rivals Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia, the Griffins are winless in the league since late September. With Milan to follow after their match against Juventus, Genoa will need to start to pick up points soon if they wish to stay in Serie A.17:32
