Milan extend their lead at the top of Serie A to five point ahead of rivals Inter following their 2-0 triumph over Fiorentina this afternoon. Alessio Romagnoli opened the scoring with a close-range header before Franck Kessie added a second from the penalty spot. Kessie missed a second penalty, while Hakan Calhanoglu was denied by the post in the second half. The home side were rarely troubled at the back and extended their unbeaten run to start the league season to nine matches.
Milan are next in action against Celtic at home in the Europa League on Thursday. Fiorentina next play against Udinese on the road in Serie A next Sunday.
